501(c)3 Non Profit

The Crystal Pond Association was originally organized as a 501(c)4 organization which was befitting of a homeowner's association as the efforts of the organization largely benefited the homeowners around the pond. In 2003, the towns of Eastford and Woodstock, CT purchased Crystal Pond Park which allows for public access to Crystal Pond via kayak or canoe in addition to the visual enjoyment provided to park-goers. The Association's efforts to monitor water quality and maintain the dam now benefit all residents of Eastford and Woodstock, CT who are able to enjoy the pristine water found in Crystal Pond. The Crystal Pond Association acts as stewards for this natural resource and in April 2022, the federal government recognized the benefit we lovingly provide to our community.  Please see the link below to our 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter. 

The environment is everyone’s responsibility to protect. To date, we have been fortunate. Our lake has not experienced cyanobacteria blooms or invasive species. This is largely attributed to the residents and community in our watershed who take great pride in protecting Crystal Pond. We know this pattern will not continue forever and for that reason we implore residents, friends, family, and the surrounding community to take an interest in Crystal Pond. Financial support provides us with the ability to expand our water monitoring efforts and protect our dam from the impacts of climate change. Any amount of support is appreciated by the Association and future generations.
