Through a pilot program in association with The Last Green Valley (TLGV) and CT DEEP, we have a buoy present in the deepest part of the lake. The buoy contains sensors which monitor the temperature of the lake at 1-meter intervals all the way to the bottom. This equipment is the ONLY continuous monitoring we have on the lake.

The buoy contains sensors which monitor the temperature of the lake at 1-meter intervals all the way to the bottom. This equipment is the ONLY continuous monitoring we have on the lake.
Twice a year the sensors are pulled up, the data is retrieved, and the battery health and viability of the sensors is checked. Low battery sensors are swapped, and the buoy is redeployed. All data collected is shared with CT DEEP and TLGV.
